What is Innovation Farms Ontario?
Innovation Farms Ontario (IFO), powered by FCC AgExpert, conducts practical on-farm testing of emerging technologies and automation, with its primary site out of Haggerty Creek in Bothwell, ON and additional projects at a partnered vineyard in the Niagara region.
Our goal at IFO is to provide practical research and testing of new technologies to help farmers confidently adopt new systems with less risk, while providing opportunity for connection with innovative companies to ground-truth their products, connect with mentors and funding, and to network the broader ag-ecosystem.
IFO is part of the Innovation Farms Network, which conducts on-farm testing across Canada at the following sites:

Innovation Farms Ontario (IFO) plays a pivotal role in both de-risking and accelerating the adoption of new agricultural technologies for Ontario growers. By putting emerging technologies to the test under real-world conditions, we demonstrate what works, how it works, and how growers can harness it to its fullest potential, all without bearing the risks that come with early adoption. At the same time, IFO supports ag-tech companies by providing the development support, ground-truthing, and market exposure they need to reach their target audiences in Canada. As a trusted third party, we bridge the gap between innovation and the field, helping propel the Canadian agricultural industry into the future.
